Welcome to Dreams Of Drifting, my little place on the net dedicated to informing, entertaining, and hopefully offering a refreshing outlook towards cars, traveling, and maybe even life in general.
There's a good chance that you ventured here for the first time thinking you'd find nothing but fluff about drifting and silly sliding cars, but the term "dreams of drifting" had two meanings for me when I first came up with it in 2000 at the age of 18, and now more than ever that continues to hold true to this day.
A drifter by society's definition is someone floating from one place to another, never really settling down or committing to any particular goal or venture. To me, I consider a drifter in a different light. He is an adventurer, a traveler compelled to see what lies over the next hill, or around the next turn in the path. In this mindset, I consider myself much of a drifter with my eager willingness to go beyond borders that would otherwise keep most people at bay. I constantly want to learn more, do more, see more, experience more. But that isn't to say I don't have my commitments at the same time...
Second, Dreams of Drifting is indeed meant to point towards what I consider to be the greatest drifter car of all time as well as the very act of manipulating and sliding a car sideways under perfect control. It is a skill many aspire to learn, but one that few are willing to dedicate enough time and patience to understand. It is my passion and has been since I started driving at 16 before I even knew that there was a word to describe it.
While viewing the pictures and reading the articles on this website, please bear in mind that in many ways you are experiencing that which I use as my creative outlet, my way of speaking and sharing myself and my experiences to the world. If anytime during your visit you experience humour, anger, happiness, frustration, or any other emotion...well...GOOD! Life is too short to be lived without emotion.
